WORS #2

Ok I'll give this blogging thing a try.

The Rhinelander Crystal Lake Classic was a great race. The weather was perfect, a lot can change in a week. Last weekend we had snow in the Rasta Rally which was the same course as this weekend.

The course was a little different than a traditional race. It was a 3 ten mile lap course. When Don said GOOOOOO! we went, it was about a 1.5 mile lead out on a gravel road. I had pretty good position exiting the lead out.

I was in good position but went out a little to hard the first lap and had to compose my self so I didn't blow up. So I sat up a little bit to catch my breath, then I caught my wind and started hammering again. I rode hard and caught a few guys, we worked together through out end of the first and the whole second lap. I didn't do to much pulling tho, I was doing all I could just to hang on to there wheels with out getting dropped off the back. Throughout the whole second lap we where moving along good, picking off a few riders here and there.

By the time we got to the long section of gravel on the third lap I was feeling it (not in the good way). I ended up getting dropped from the group I was with on the first long climb. I basically rode the whole third lap by myself, keeping a good pace and making sure that no one was creeping up behind me. I kept my position the whole lap. With about a mile or two to the finish I could feel some cramps coming on. I hung in there finishing 20th overall. I reached both of my goals today, it feels great. Now I need a new goal?

Thank you Performa Cycling and Scott Cole!
